So It Begins: The Congestion Chronicles

Brought to you by Disbelief, Frustration and Fumes

· Congestion Chronicles

Welcome to Congestion Chronicles — my ongoing record of gridlock, chaos, and transport fails wherever they happen to strike. Some cities melt your soul slowly, some do it all at once, and some (looking at you, Auckland) make it an annual tradition.

This is the home of rants, reality checks, cartoons, policy fixes, and the Captain‑Obvious solutions — including Skyline, the fix so sensible the Ministry of Common Sense has been quietly screaming into a pillow about it for years.

The Ministry of Common Sense has an unofficial desk here. They don’t get funding, but they do get results.

Speaking of which, meet Captain Obvious. He’s not a superhero; he’s just the bloke who looks like a grumpy appliance fixer and snaps into action whenever the suburb does something stupid. One moment he’s minding his own business; the next, he’s activated, eyebrow raised, arms folded, delivering the line everyone else was too polite to say. He appears more often than anyone would like.

If it clogs, jams, stalls, bottlenecks, or breaks the moment you need it, it belongs here.

A blurred, streaked gradient that looks like tail‑lights and brake‑lights smeared in motion. Colours deep reds → amber → charcoal.
